Locating a modern attached garage on this narrow deep lot was an opportunity to create a paved side courtyard with and entrance to the mudroom and kitchen. The new one story den was designed to look like a screened porch that was enclosed. The diamond pattern windows add interest and whimsy to the space. The new portico and second story balustrade carry the theme around to the side yard patio and family room addition. The painted cedar clapboard and window details were matched throughout the new work.
